Wear & Care
Caring for your jewellery
Your Silver Lining Jewellery pieces have been carefully crafted from high-quality materials. With the right care, they will retain their beauty and unique appearance for a long time.
Partially oxidised jewellery
Oxidised silver has a deliberately dark, characterful appearance. This oxidation is part of the design and gives the piece its unique depth and contrast.
To preserve the beauty of the dark areas, we advise against polishing oxidised jewellery with a silver polishing cloth or silver cleaning solution. This may cause the oxidation layer to wear away partially. If necessary, clean the jewellery gently with a soft, dry cloth.
Wearing the jewellery may cause the silver on the lighter parts to change naturally. This is a natural characteristic of the material and adds to the piece’s individual character.
Jewellery with pearls
Pearls are natural materials with a soft lustre and require extra care. Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, creams, make-up and harsh cleaning products, as these can damage the pearl’s lustre.
Wear your pearls with love, but store them separately from other jewellery to prevent scratches. After wearing them, gently wipe the pearls with a soft cloth to keep them looking their best.
Jewellery with (semi-)precious stones
(Semi-)precious stones each have their own natural properties and can vary in hardness, colour and sensitivity. You should therefore handle them with care and avoid hard knocks, extreme temperature changes and prolonged contact with water or chemicals.
Clean jewellery with gemstones using a soft, slightly damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly.
General advice
To keep your jewellery looking its best for as long as possible:
- Take your jewellery off whilst sleeping, exercising, swimming and showering.
- Avoid direct contact with perfume, creams and cleaning products.
- Store your jewellery in a dry place, preferably separately or in the box provided.
- Wear your jewellery regularly; even silver retains its beauty best when worn with care.
A piece of jewellery becomes more beautiful as it accumulates memories. With the right care, your Silver Lining Jewellery piece will remain a unique item that travels with you.
